About the Event

You already know how to connect with your community, build trust, and help people find the resources they need. Now, let’s add one more tool to your toolkit!

Join Vot-ER and the Arizona Community Health Workers Association for a nonpartisan training exploring how Community Health Workers and Promotoras can connect their communities with civic engagement resources.

Together, we’ll explore the connection between civic participation and community health, and share ideas for bringing this work into the conversations and connections you already have with your community.

In this session, you’ll:

  •  Learn why civic engagement is part of building healthier communities

  •  Get hands-on free Vot-ER tools and resources you can use right away

  •  Learn what’s allowed when supporting nonpartisan voter engagement

  •  Learn simple ways to bring up voting naturally in your conversations

  •  Get ready for National Voter Registration Day and beyond

You’ll leave with practical tools, a free Vot-ER badge, and everything you need to get ready for National Voter Registration Day, September 15, 2026.

Let’s make sure everyone who is eligible to vote has the information and resources they need to make their voice heard.

This training is nonpartisan and open to CHWs, Promotoras, health educators, outreach workers, and public health advocates across Arizona.

Speaker: Sandra Gutierrez

Sandra is the Western Region Deputy Field Director for Vot-ER and is based in Tucson, Arizona. She has over a decade of experience in community organizing, advocacy, and campaign work, with a focus on expanding civic engagement and advancing health equity. Sandra has worked across Arizona on issues including reproductive health, public education, and gun violence prevention, and is passionate about building the power of communities that have historically been underrepresented in decision-making. Outside of work, Sandra enjoys spending time with her husband and son, cheering on University of Arizona Baseball, enjoying live music, and exploring Mt. Lemmon.
