José Miguel Quijada, CCHW

José Miguel Quijada is a bilingual Certified Community Health Worker with AzCHOW, serving the Douglas, Arizona region as part of the Salud en Acción initiative. With over a decade of experience in community engagement, customer service, and team leadership, José brings exceptional interpersonal skills and cultural awareness to his work.
He is widely recognized for building trust, bridging cultural and language gaps, and helping residents navigate complex systems with care and respect. His professional background includes supervisory roles in high-volume service environments, where he coached teams, led training sessions, and implemented client-centered solutions.
Today, José applies those strengths in public health connecting individuals and families to colorectal cancer screenings, chronic disease prevention programs, and healthy food access resources. As a trusted CCHW in his community, he is especially skilled at addressing stigma and misinformation through personalized outreach and peer support.
A proud Douglas resident, José is deeply committed to helping his neighbors live longer, healthier lives. He represents a new generation of CHW leadership, advancing health equity from the ground up one relationship at a time.
