Speakers:
Erika Vega Castro, CCHW

Erika Vega Castro is the Project Coordinator for the Salud en Acción program at the Arizona Community Health Workers Association (AzCHOW). Originally from Tabasco, Mexico, she has served as a dedicated Community Health Worker since 2022, building strong relationships with individuals and families to improve access to care, deliver culturally appropriate health education, and connect community members with essential resources.
In her role at AzCHOW, Erika leads initiatives that advance health equity, prevent chronic disease, and increase access to healthy foods in underserved communities. She coordinates partnerships, manages program logistics, and oversees the implementation of educational sessions and produce prescription voucher programs—ensuring activities align with both grant goals and community needs.
With a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Marketing, Erika blends a strong academic foundation with hands-on community health experience. Her work is grounded in cultural sensitivity, strategic program management, and a deep commitment to promoting equity and empowering individuals to make lasting, positive changes to their health.
