After a tense couple of weeks in which the fate of HB 2324 Voluntary Certification of Community Health Workers was uncertain, the bill was brought to the floor of the Senate for the third and final read on Wednesday, April 18th 2018. The bill passed with a vote of 24 ‘ayes’ and 6 ‘nays.’
Because amendments were added in the State Senate, the bill must go back to the House before being transmitted to Governor Ducey.
This is a huge step forward for the CHW workforce in Arizona! Last year, similar legislation stalled in the Senate and was never heard.
If you have a moment, please reach out to your state Senator and thank them for their support!
